raysal — Brooke Clark tossed a complete game for the Lady Tigers and was 2-for-3 at the plate as Shady Spring defeated James Monroe 5-2 in the first round of the Class AA Region 3, Section 2 tournament Tuesday night.

Peyton Wiseman contributed a 2-for-2 performance with a triple and two RBIs. 

Shady will play the winner of today's River View/PikeView game on 4 p.m Thursday at River View.

new richmond — Westside jumped out to 5-0 lead by the end of the first to defeat Oak Hill 14-0 on Monday in the Class AA Region 3, Section 1 tournament.

Hailey Byers pitched a shutout, giving up only one hit. Madison Hicks had a triple and Jaiden Cline finished 2-for-3 for Westside.

Megan Lattie had the only hit for Oak Hill.

Autie Miller finished 4-for-4 with two runs scored and Lexi Booth went 2-for-4 with two runs scored as well for the Lady Warriors.

Emily Pritchard had Westside’s only hit.

Independence held off a seventh inning rally to defeat Riverside 5-4 on Tuesday, the fifth victory in a row.

Fisher Horton struck out five on 6 2/3 innings of work and Hunter Mills came in for the final out and the save.

Hunter Schoolcraft had a double and Hunter Mills finished with two RBIs for the Patriots.

Chris Buchanan had a double and three RBIs to lead Riverside.

Independence (11-8) hosts PikeView today at 5:30 p.m.

Wyoming East 6, Nicholas County 5

new richmond — Dylan Repass hit a walkoff single with two outs and the bases loaded to get the 6-5 win for Wyoming East.

That was the only hit of the game for Repass.

Eric Hoosier had a double with two runs batted in and Ethan Hoosier finished 1-for-3 with a RBI for Wyoming East.

Noah Parker finished 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs, and Andrew Hughes also had a RBI for the Grizzlies.

Wyoming East (11-3) hosts Summers County today at 5:30 p.m. Nicholas County (8-5) hosts Greater Beckley Christian Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

fayetteville — Fayetteville scored seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to cap a 14 run game to defeat Richwood 14-11 on Tuesday.

Hunter Rinehart, Seth McCarraher and Dustin Bailey each had a double and three RBIs apiece to lead the Pirates.

Jarron Johnson finished 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs and Wes Spencer had three hits with a run batted in for Richwood.

Fayetteville travels to Oak Hill today at 5:30 p.m. Richwood (3-10) hosts Valley today at 5:30 p.m.

charmco — Greenbrier West improved to .500 with a 7-1 win over sectional rival Montcalm on Tuesday. 

The Cavaliers used the pitching of Austin Heaster, Chase Hagy and DJ Oxendine to hold the Generals to one run on four hits. Hagy struck out all four batters he faced in the outing. Leading the Cavaliers at the plate were Oxendine, who went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI, and Chad Ramsey, who was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

Greenbrier West will play again today when they host Midland Trail.
