Snowfall Totals For First Wisconsin Snow; Second Storm On Its Way

MILWAUKEE, WI — Halloween is right around the corner, and Wisconsin's first snowfall is already in the books. For the Oct. 29 snowfall, the further west you were, the more snow you saw.

In places like Baraboo and Dodgeville, residents broke out the shovels and snowblowers after nearly four inches of snow fell. Folks out in Waukesha saw about an inch of snow for a short time.

And now, the same weather pattern that brought us the first snow flurries of Winter 2019 is coming back to haunt us. According to the National Weather Service, between one to five inches of snow is expected Wednesday evening through Halloween on Thursday, with the highest amounts towards southeastern Wisconsin.

The National Weather Service says snow accumulations may impact the Thursday morning commute as well as the potentially early Thursday evening Halloween commute.

While the snow is likely on its way, officials say there is high uncertainty with this weather system, however at this point one to five inches of snow is the expected amount for a majority of southern Wisconsin.

Forecast

Wednesday Night

Rain before midnight, then rain and snow. Low around 32. North wind 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 25 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Thursday

Rain and snow. High near 37. Breezy, with a north wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

A 30 percent chance of snow before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 24. Northwest wind 10 to 15 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.
