Maryland reaches milestone of 85% of adults vaccinated against COVID-19, Gov. Hogan says

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Governor Larry Hogan announced on Monday that according to official CDC data, the State of Maryland has reached the milestone of vaccinating more than 85% of adults in the state.

We’re told the state is outpacing the national rate of 78.9% of adults with at least one dose.

State health officials are continuing to finalize plans for the approval of booster shots for the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, as well as the authorization of vaccines for 5 to 11-year-olds.

As of Monday, Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate sits at 3.5%, a decline of 31.5% since August 22nd. In addition, the state’s case rate per 100K has declined by 29.1% since September 15th, not at 14.7. COVID hospitalizations have declined by 18.9% since September 9th and currently sit at 685. Hospitalizations are down nearly 65% from their peak.
