Man killed in Harrison County fire

LUMBERPORT, W.Va. — An early morning fire has claimed a man’s life in Harrison County.

The blaze was reported at about 1 a.m. Thursday at a home on Short Street in Lumberport. Flames were showing when fire crews arrived on the scene.

The victim, believed to be in his 20’s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate.

Fire crews from Lumberport, Shinston and Spelter were on the scene.
