More calls expected on snake bites after last year's rise

The number of people calling the Swedish Poisons Information Centre about snake bites rose sharply in 2018 and is expected to continue its upward slide this year.

Around 1,250 calls about snake bites were recorded last year, which is a significant rise compared to the year before.

Erik Lindeman, a senior consulting physician at the centre, tells Radio Sweden about how a combination of warmer weather and people being more aware of the centre has led to more calls being recorded about snake bites, why people are being bitten, and what to do if you spot a snake or are bitten by one.
