LAUREL — The Laurel Dodgers took another step toward winning their second consecutive Eastern A Legion district tournament title Saturday at Thomson Park.
Connor Polkowske and Carson West each went 3-for-4 with two RBIs as the Dodgers defeated Glendive 8-4 in the undefeated semifinal game. Laurel scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth to pull away.
Starting pitcher Cash Golden struck out six through six innings to earn the victory. Rhett Hoffer went 3-for-4 for Glendive with an run scored and an RBI.
Laurel advanced to the title game Sunday at 1 p.m., where it will face either Glendive or Miles City, who face off Sunday at 10 a.m. in a loser-out game.
Miles City 4, Blue Jays 0
Miles City remained in the hunt with a 4-0 shutout of the Billings Blue Jays in a loser-out contest Saturday night. The Mavericks scored three runs in the top of the fourth to break a scoreless tie, and ultimately took advantage of five Billings errors.

Starting pitcher Jess Bellows struck out eight in six innings while allowing four hits for Miles City. Reliever Clay Prell pitched a scoreless seventh to complete a five-hit shutout. Davis Mosler pitched six innings for the Blue Jays and allowed four runs, but none were earned.
Kayden Hager had Miles City's only RBI. Lance Schaaf and Jessen West each had two hits for Billings.
Blue Jays 5, Glasgow 3
The Blue Jays kept their season alive earlier Saturday with a 5-3 loser-out victory over Glasgow. Miles City also advanced Saturday with a 9-2 win over the Billings Cardinals in another loser-out contest.
In Billings’ win over Glasgow, Austin Schaaf had two hits and Lance Schaaf delivered two RBIs. The Blue Jays broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Blue Jays starter Max Keller struck out five in five innings. Noah Lipscyk and Bryce Legare each had two hits for Glasgow, while Kaden Fossum drove in two runs.
Miles City 9, Cardinals 2
Miles City’s Jacksen Watts threw a one-hitter to pitch the Mavericks past the Billings Cardinals. Watts struck out five, walked three and didn’t allow an earned run.
Hager and Jack Cline combined for six RBIs for the Mavericks.
