ALPHARETTA, GA — Alpharetta Police have given the all clear after responding to a report that a person might have been armed at Fiserve.

Police evacuated, checked and cleared the Fiserv building without finding someone who was armed after an alarm went off that warns of an active shooter.

Just before 11 a.m., Alpharetta police gave an all clear that all floors and areas were checked. The department said there was no gunman found, and no injuries. They said they were planning to reopen the building shortly.

At 10:18 a.m., officers were clearing the building floor by floor. Unarmed employees were able to exit the building, but there were still employees hiding in the building.

By that point, there had still not been any contact with an armed person, police said.

Fiserv employees tweeted about the situation, including Jason who said, "Just got evacuated due to armed assailant. No idea what’s going on. Anyone sees anything on the news about Fiserv in Alpharetta, please let me know. So far, everything and everyone is calm."

Jason continued and said, "We’ve just been told it will be a couple of hours before we will be let back in the building. People are starting to leave on this news. I believe I will do the same."

Other employees are saying they are in the Costco parking lot down the street. Some said they saw police with guns drawn going inside Fiserv. Nearby buildings are on lock down according to employees on social media.

In February 2014, Fiserv moved its Georgia operations to Alpharetta, a consolidation from Gwinnett, bringing about 500 jobs with it. Fiserv brings information technology services to the financial services industry.

The Atlanta Business Chronicle reported in 2014 that, "Fiserv will move employees from six offices, most of them in Norcross, into Cobalt Center. The 376,000 square foot office complex formerly housed AT&T Inc. The $41 million Fiserv expansion will include the relocation of about 2,000 employees from Peachtree Corners in Gwinnett County. An additional 500 software, sales and marketing jobs will be added in Alpharetta over the next few years."
