1. Did you have a chance to watch Jeff Stoutland’s presser the other day? If not, you should. It’s required viewing. Stout’s an all-timer. Legitimately one of the greatest assistant coaches in Eagles history. It’s not even about what he says but how he says it. He’s just one of those guys you could sit and listen to all day. No matter what he’s talking about. The guy is 59 and has been coaching football for 38 years and you won’t find anybody who’s more passionate about the game. Listen to him talk about how he’s a better coach today than he’s ever been. Listen to him talk about how tough he is on his players. Listen to him get fired up talking about a Jordan Mailata / Sua Opeta combination block that sprung Boston Scott for an eight-yard gain against the Giants in the middle of a miserable 4-11-1 season. We’ve been so fortunate to have phenomenal offensive line coaches around here over the last 25 years. Juan Castillo, Howard Mudd and Stoutland have held down the job since 1998, and Stoutland may be the best of the bunch. I hope he coaches forever. The dude IS football.

Quibble about the offensive line if you want, but in my view when you look at the roster there is both front-line talent and capable depth at every position on the roster. Yes, even the offensive line, where Nate Solder, Jonotthan Harrison and Zach Fulton are all accomplished veterans.

I contend that Terry McLaurin is going to build on his first two NFL seasons and rise to be among the best in the NFL in the coming seasons. First, let’s look at some simple statistics from Terry’s 29 regular season games as a pro. He caught 145 passes for 2,037 yards and 11 touchdowns. He made a 1st down on 65% of his catches, and he had just 3 drops on 134 targets in 2020. But the raw statistics above don’t really do justice to what Terry McLaurin has accomplished in his first two seasons, and how well that bodes for the future.

Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Le’Veon Bell created somewhat of a stir Saturday thanks to a reply he made on Instagram. Commenting in response to a fan on a post about an expensive McDonald’s tab (of all things), Bell expressed displeasure with his Chiefs tenure — and more specifically, playing for head coach Andy Reid. “I’ll never play for Andy Reid again,” wrote Bell. “I’d retire first.”
