Woman watches as her stuff is burned on Snapchat

Rochester police are investigating a case of arson shared on Snapchat.

An 18-year-old Rochester woman on Monday told police she had been sent a Snapchat video of some of her possessions being set on fire in a grill, said Lt. Mike Sadauskis, of the Rochester Police Department. The woman is dating the ex-boyfriend of one of the women suspected in the arson.

From the video, the woman recognized the setting as the deck of a home in northwest Rochester. Burned were her Coach purses, three bags of clothing, shoes, and a wallet, with a total value of $1,000. The items had been stored in the car of a friend while the woman was in the process of changing living arrangements.

Three women, ages 18 to 48, are suspected in the arson, Sadauskis said. Police know who they are, but have not yet located them, he said.
