Barnstable Among Dozens Of MA Towns Where Coronavirus Cases Grew

Barnstable was one of 90 towns in Massachusetts where positive coronavirus tests grew over the last two weeks, according to state officials.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Barnstable was one of 90 towns in Massachusetts that saw a rise in positive coronavirus cases over the last 14 days. The town's positive test rate however is still well below the safety thresholds, according to state officials.

Over the past two weeks, 14 people tested positive for the virus out of the 964 who were tested, according to data released Wednesday by the state Department of Public Health. That's a positive test rate of 1.45 percent, well below the 2 percent safety threshold.

Last week, Barnstable's coronavirus positive test rate was also below the safety threshold — though it was much lower at .81 percent.

As of Wednesday, 382 Barnstable residents have tested positive for the virus.
