Located in the heart of the Highlands, Big Mike's Shaved Ice is serving up a plethora of sweet treats this Summer. The owner, Mike Buchanan opened up his shaved ice stand in 2013 and moved the operation to the Highlands in 2015.

Open six days a week, Buchanan does a big job all summer, filling up huge portions for a very low cost. The flavors range from blue cotton candy to pina colada. Prices are $2 for small, $4 for medium and $7 for large.

Big Mike's is located at 1265 Bardstown Road in Louisville. Hours are Sunday through Thursday, 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. The stand is closed on Mondays.

Due to COVID-19, the seating area is closed but curbside service will be available.
