7-Year-Old Slain Near Houston Walmart When Gunman Shoots Into Car
The shooting happened Sunday morning near Wallisville Road and Sam Houston Tollway, or state Route 8, authorities said.
HOUSTON, TX —A 7-year-old girl was shot to death in a Walmart parking lot in northeast Houston on Sunday morning and the gunman remains on the loose. The girl had been inside a car with her mother and three other kids around 7 a.m. Sunday when gunshots rang out.
The mother was shot in the arm, the Harris County Sheriff's office said, and another child suffered glass fragment injuries. Two teens were also in the car and were unharmed.
The shooting happened near Wallisville Road and Sam Houston Tollway, or state Route 8. The suspect, who was wearing a red hoodie, fled in a red pickup truck. The shooter, whose name wasn't immediately released, is considered armed and dangerous. He is described as being in his 40s with a beard.
