Fire destroys abandoned house in Winneshiek County

Firefighters in northeast Iowa spent about 2 1/2 hours Sunday morning fighting a massive house fire.
Winneshiek County Emergency Management said the fire started sometime before 4:45 a.m. Sunday in an abandoned house at 1212 County Road V68 in Jackson Township. That's about 4 miles north of Waucoma.
The family lives in a different house on the property. No one was injured.
Fire crews have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
The Waucoma Fire Department, Fort Atkinson Fire Department, Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office, and the Winneshiek Medical Center EMS responded to the fire.
