CHARLESTON, S.C., Nov. 15, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- PlyFASTner LLC, purveyor of code-certified hurricane protection systems for windows and doors, proudly announces the revival of the U.S. patent covering its technology, and the approval of trademark registrations for the trademarks, PLYFASTNER® and PLYFASTNER PLUS™.

U.S. Patent No. 6,293,059 B1, entitled, "Hurricane Protective System for Windows and Doors," was revived by the United States Patent and Trademark Office ("USPTO") on October 1, 2018.  This patent covers the original technology that PlyFASTner LLC has offered under the PLYFASTNER® brand since 2003.  The patent had to be revived following an inadvertent failure to pay patent maintenance fees.

In addition, the USPTO registered PLYFASTNER® as a trademark for "Non-metal window and door shutter system, namely, reusable non-metal shutters, bolts, and anchors sold as a unit for covering and protecting windows and doors," under U.S. Trademark Registration No. 5,599,816, on November 6, 2018.  That follows the USPTO's Notice of Allowance for PLYFASTNER PLUS™ on October 16, 2018.  The registration of PLYFASTNER PLUS™ will complete once the exciting new patent-pending technology offered under that brand hits the market, which is expected in Q1 2019.
