Cambria receives vets trust allocation

EBENSBURG — The Pennsylvania Veterans Trust Fund is awarding the Cambria County Office of Veterans Affairs $17,400 to help with the digitization of veterans’ records.

“County offices are one of the primary contacts for veterans and their families when it comes to accessing benefits and programs,” state Rep. Frank Burns, D-Johnstown, said in a release. “This funding will help Cambria County continue to serve our local veterans.”

The grant awarded to Cambria County was one of nearly 30 announced statewide for county offices or charitable or veteran service organizations.

The Veterans Trust Fund is funded by Pennsylvanians who voluntarily make a $3 donation when applying for or renewing their driver’s license, photo ID or motor vehicle registration. Additionally, the fund receives proceeds that come from the sale of the Honoring Our Veterans and Honoring Our Women Veterans license plates and private donations.
