SEATTLE, WA — The first Friday the 13th of 2019 will feature a rare full "micro" harvest moon and the usual folkloric phobia that goes along with the day. But one Seattle movie theater is upping the tension this year with a secret (and meta) movie screening.

On Friday night, the Beacon Theater will show "the best" movie from the Friday the 13th film series — the one with knife-wielding, hockey-mask wearing Jason Voorhees.

What's "the best" Friday the 13th movie? Hard to tell. The franchise includes 12 films, eight of which were made in the 1980s at the height of the slasher movie craze. Many consider the first film (just called "Friday the 13th") to be the best, even though Jason isn't the killer in that one. Two later entries, "Jason Goes to Hell" and "Jason Takes Manhattan," are cult classics. And for people who weren't born in the 1980s, there was a poorly-reviewed 2009 reboot.

But maybe Beacon Theater won't even show a movie — there was also a "Friday the 13th" TV series, and several video games for devices ranging from the Commodore 64 to the iPhone.

You'll just have to show up to find out. The "The Best Friday the 13th Movie" screening starts at 9:30 p.m. at Beacon Theater, 4405 Rainier Ave S, Seattle.
