NORTH ANDOVER, MA — Town Moderator Mark DiSalvo laid out plans for holding a safe town meeting despite coronavirus, Friday. Among other differences: for the first time in the town's history, town meeting will be outside.

The meeting will be held at Joe Walsh Stadium on the football field at North Andover High School on Tuesday June 16 at 5:00 p.m.

DiSalvo noted that if the local coronavirus outbreak gets worse, he still has the ability to postpone the meeting. (The same applies to weather forecasts). In addition, a record will be kept of attendees in case there is need for contact tracing following the meeting.

Other common precautions are in place. Masks are required except in cases of medical necessity. Seats and materials will be sanitized ahead of the meeting. Seating will be distanced, with only members of the same household able to sit together, and there will be "social distance monitors" to ensure distancing is followed.
