Tamkeen supports Bahrain's pavilion at technology expo [Gulf Daily News (Bahrain)]

(Gulf Daily News (Bahrain) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MANAMA: Tamkeen is supporting Bahrain's pavilion at this year's edition of the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX), which opens in Dubai today.

Seven Bahraini enterprises will be exhibiting their products and services at the event, which ends on Thursday. GITEX is a key global event that brings together information technology companies and experts from around the globe.

More than 3,700 exhibitors from 61 countries are participating in the 2014 edition of the exhibition, and it is expected to attract more than 100,000 visitors. Tamkeen supported the participation of more than 100 enterprises in GITEX over the last few years.

Bahrain's pavilion this year will include customer engagement representation dedicated to enterprise support from Tamkeen, along with the participating firms that represent different specialisations, such as designing, developing, and programming smartphone apps, another offering IT training and education, and a third providing consultations on software operating solutions.

Tamkeen Private Sector Support vice-president Mohammed Bucheery said this is the seventh time that Tamkeen has supported Bahrain's pavilion at GITEX, as the enterprises showed the importance of their participation in the exhibition for the growth and development of their businesses, given that GITEX is a quality global event that connects ICT companies with their partners and customers, and provides an excellent platform for building trade relations and expanding into local and regional markets.

Yasir Zamir, marketing executive at Digital Middle East, one of the participating companies at the Bahrain Pavilion, said this is our third straight participation at GITEX exhibition, which has continuously allowed us to reach out to potential prospects in the region.

"This year, we are looking to learn more about emerging technologies that we can, then customise further and tailor to meet the needs of our clients and customers back in Bahrain." Al Nadeem Information Technology business development manager Mishal Hamza said "this is our sixth time at GITEX.

"We have continuously strived to be a part of this event to be able to create awareness about our products and services and to learn about state-of-the-art technologies that are available within the field of IT. This year, we are looking to form partnerships with potential companies to sell our latest in-house developed products that include content management systems and e-commerce platforms."
